Honor Magic 9 Super Edition official: 11,000 mAh, price and specs

📌 Updated 28 September 2026 — The Honor Magic 9 Super Edition is official, and on sale in China since the day of its launch. It is the cheapest model in the series: it starts at CNY 4,499, roughly €585. It goes all in on battery life, with an 11,000 mAh battery in just 8.1 mm, a 6.81-inch display, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and a 200 MP main camera. It does, however, skip the ARRI partnership.

Unveiled on 28 September in Beijing, the Magic 9 Super Edition completes the series alongside the Magic 9 and the Magic 9 Pro Max. It takes a different direction from its two siblings: where they focus on the camera and ARRI, it focuses on battery life and price.

11,000 mAh in 8.1 mm

This is the biggest battery in the series: 11,000 mAh (10,690 mAh rated). And it is paradoxically the thinnest of the three, at 8.10 mm, weighing 227 g and measuring 161.78 × 76.72 mm. It charges at 80 W by cable, with the charger included, and at 50 W wirelessly, and can charge another device at 27 W.

For scale: that is 3,000 mAh more than the Magic 9 and 2,200 mAh more than the Pro Max. Enough to comfortably last two days for most uses.

A 6.81-inch, 10,000-nit display

The 6.81-inch OLED display shows 1,280 × 2,788 pixels (450 ppi), reaches 120 Hz and hits 10,000 nits peak, 2,000 nits full screen. It is flat, with 2.5D glass and 3,840 Hz PWM dimming for eye comfort.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5

Like the Magic 9, the Super Edition uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, last year’s flagship chip: two cores at 4.6 GHz, six at 3.62 GHz, and an Adreno 840 GPU, with LPDDR5X memory.

A simpler camera, without ARRI

This is where the savings are made. The Super Edition gets neither the dual 200 MP setup nor the ARRI modes of its siblings:

  • 200 MP main camera: 1/1.55-inch sensor, f/1.9 aperture, optical stabilisation.
  • 50 MP telephoto: f/2.4 aperture, optical stabilisation, 3x optical zoom and up to 100x digital.
  • 12 MP ultra-wide with autofocus, which also handles macro.
  • 50 MP front camera, f/2.0 aperture, 90° field of view.

It films in 4K at up to 120 fps. The rest of the kit follows: Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, Honor’s C3 radio chip, stereo speakers, an infrared blaster, a fingerprint reader and MagicOS 11, based on Android 17.

Honor Magic 9 Super Edition price and availability

The Super Edition has been on sale in China since 28 September. The euro conversion is indicative, at the current exchange rate and before import taxes:

  • 12 GB + 256 GB: CNY 4,499 (roughly €585)
  • 12 GB + 512 GB: CNY 4,999 (roughly €650)
  • 16 GB + 512 GB: CNY 5,499 (roughly €715)

With the Chinese state subsidy, which takes CNY 500 off phones sold under CNY 6,000, it drops to CNY 3,999. Nothing so far points to a release outside China.

Conclusion

The Magic 9 Super Edition is the most rational phone in the series: 11,000 mAh, a large and very bright display and a flagship chip for the lowest price in the range. Those who put the camera first will prefer the Magic 9 or the Magic 9 Pro Max, the only ones with the dual 200 MP ARRI setup.
