Oppo Reno 15: the Global Version will be radically different from the Chinese model

As Oppo prepares to launch its Reno 15 line-up in China, fresh information is shedding light on what awaits the international market. And the surprise is a big one: according to a leak from SmartPrix, the global model will be very different from its Chinese counterpart, both in terms of hardware and positioning. Oppo appears to be adopting a distinctly region-specific strategy.

Global Version: Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 and a larger display

The report indicates that the global Oppo Reno 15 will feature a large 6.59-inch OLED display (1.5K resolution, 120Hz).

Under the bonnet, the change is dramatic. Unlike the Chinese version, the international model is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip. To make up for it, it is tipped to carry a beefier 6500 mAh battery, with 80W wired Fast Charging.

On the camera side, the set-up is reportedly more modest: a triple array made up of a 50 MP main lens, an 8 MP ultra-wide and a 50 MP periscope telephoto with 3.5x optical zoom. The global launch is expected in February 2026.

Chinese version: Dimensity 8450 and a 200MP sensor

The Chinese variant, due to launch on 17 November, heads in a completely different direction. It is said to be more compact, with a 6.32-inch OLED display (1.5K, 120Hz).

For raw power, it reportedly relies on the Dimensity 8450 chip, paired with a 6200 mAh battery (80W charging).

It is above all in photography that the Chinese model clearly stands apart. Leaks point to a 200-megapixel main sensor, backed by two 50 MP sensors for the ultra-wide and the telephoto. A configuration clearly geared more towards high-end photography.

Oppo appears to be courting two distinct audiences. The Chinese version targets pure performance and photography in a compact format.
