Vivo X Fold 6: the global version hits Geekbench, running Android 17

📌 Update, 10 September 2026: the global X Fold 6 has just surfaced on Geekbench, revealing its first performance figures, 12GB of RAM and, above all, Android 17 — where the Chinese model launched on Android 16. The worldwide release now looks more like October.

Unveiled in June in China, the hugely impressive Vivo X Fold 6 is finally ready to begin its international career. The global model has just secured its first major regulatory clearance with Indonesia’s SDPPI agency under model number V2559. Already spotted back in April at Europe’s EEC certification body, this latest listing officially confirms its commercial name. The same V2559 has since cleared Malaysia’s SIRIM and Thailand’s NBTC, then Geekbench: the certification round is complete, and all that is missing now is a date.

Excellent news for our shop, since the spec sheet of this technological monster looks set to be identical to the Chinese version.

Two LTPO screens pushed to 5,000 nits

The Vivo X Fold 6 pushes display limits with a no-compromise dual-screen architecture:

• Inner foldable display: A vast 8.02-inch LTPO AMOLED panel, at 2,504 × 2,312 pixels.
• Outer display: A 6.51-inch LTPO AMOLED panel at 2,528 × 1,120 pixels, perfectly usable day to day.

Both screens share an adaptive 120 Hz refresh rate and include eye-protection technologies. More importantly, they can climb to a record peak brightness of 5 000 nits, guaranteeing surgical legibility even in direct sunlight.

Dimensity 9500 and a record 7,000 mAh battery

To power its flagship, Vivo strays from Qualcomm and fits the high-end MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super Edition chip. Paired with configurations reaching up to 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage, in China the device runs OriginOS 6 Fold, built on Android 16 and heavily optimised for productivity thanks to the multitasking tools of the Atomic Workbench. The international version, however, turns up on a newer system — more on that just below.

But the real feat of engineering lies in power management. Despite its slim chassis, the X Fold 6 packs a titanic 7 000 mAh BlueVolt battery. Quite simply, nothing like it has been seen in the foldable segment. On the charging front, there is a very solid combo of 80W wired and 40W wireless.

Geekbench finally puts a number on the Dimensity 9500

Until now, the international X Fold 6 was little more than a line in a certification database. It has now been measured: the V2559 has gone through Geekbench 7, posting 1,710 points in single-core and 5,977 points in multi-core. The chip appears under its internal MT6993 designation, confirming the Dimensity 9500, alongside 12GB of RAM on the unit tested — a mid-tier configuration, since the Chinese spec sheet goes up to 16GB.

These figures come from Geekbench 7: they compare with other runs of the same version, not with the Geekbench 6 scores that still serve as a reference in most comparisons. The takeaway is that a foldable no longer has to concede anything to a conventional flagship on raw power.

One detail of the listing deserves more attention than the points themselves: the declared operating system is Android 17. The Chinese model launched on Android 16, and seeing the international version turn up directly on the following release would make this foldable one of the very first Vivo phones to ship with Android 17. A test unit is never quite the retail device, but a benchmark run at this stage is rarely performed on a system the maker has no intention of shipping.

A camera arsenal worthy of a traditional flagship

Vivo refuses to sacrifice photography on the altar of the foldable format, equipping the phone with an elite module developed with ZEISS and backed by the in-house V3+ imaging chip:

• An impressive 200-megapixel main sensor.
• A 50-megapixel ZEISS APO periscope telephoto lens (compatible with a focal length multiplier accessory).
• A 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens.

The phone also carries two 20-megapixel selfie cameras (one on each screen) and benefits from dual water and dust resistance certification, IP58 and IP59.

Vivo X Fold 6 specifications

With the X Fold 6 already on sale in China, its spec sheet is known. The few lines still open concern the international version alone, and they are flagged as such.

Vivo X Fold 6 price and availability

Vivo has a busy autumn ahead, and the foldable is not the first item on the list. The brand is unveiling its X500 series in China on 21 September, then has to take the V80 series and this X Fold 6 global. A worldwide launch as early as September therefore looks unlikely: October is the favourite, with no official date announced so far.

On pricing, nothing has leaked for international markets, and Vivo has not confirmed which countries are involved either. The price will be added here as soon as it is announced.
